December My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway!

December My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #1 + Giveaway!

Hello and welcome as we begin the countdown to the release of the December My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, December 3rd at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. We will be here for the next three days, sharing ideas for using both the main kit, as well as the new optional add-on products that will also be available on Monday. Stay tuned for more inspiration all weekend long! Now let's join Janette for the first look at this enchanted kit!

All your fairy wishes have come true within the December My Monthly Hero Kit! This month's kit includes darling fairies, critters and botanical elements. I'm featuring just a few for you today!

I began by ink blending an A2 Snow Layering Paper panel with Green Apple and Aegean inks. I stamped the images in Intense Black ink and Copic colored them.

Tip: when die cutting elements with thin areas like the stem of dandelions, place the die cut side up and the stamp face down so that they nest. Then pick up the stamp with an acrylic block or MISTI lid. This will ensure quick and easy accurate die cuts.

Stretch your Stamps: Take advantage of stamps that can have their shape manipulated to bend beyond their design to make an arch or wreath. Look outside the obvious uses for a stamp. A fairy could be laying down, sitting up blowing a seed, or even whispering into the wind or to a fairy friend.

The fairy's wings were masked and then ink blended with Green Apple, Aegean, Orchid and Bubble Gum. I added a layer of shimmer with the kit included Stardust Gelly Roll pen.

After die cutting a circle into the blended panel, I stamped the sentiment in Intense Black. I adhered the inner circle flat to the card base and popped the rectangle frame for dimension. I then die cut each kit element and arranged them in and around the circle.

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, December 3rd, before the kit launches at 1pm Eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

I can't wait to see what you create! Happy crafting and we'll see you soon!

Such a beautiful card. I love the peacefulness and the ladybug is as sweet as it can be. I paused my membership to catch up on my card making but this monthly kit might be the one to renew my membership.
