Creating Dimension with Paper Layering Dies

Creating Dimension with Paper Layering Dies

Hello and welcome to the Hero Arts blog! Janette here sharing with you how I create added dimension with Paper Layering Dies. Today's post features the charming Paper Layering Neighborhood.

The Paper Layering Dies are fantastic. With one pass through a die cutting machine the die scores and cuts intricate details that then you can decide whether to highlight or simplify.

To highlight, add color and dimension. For this project I cut the die into watercolor paper and colored the resulting image with watercolor brush markers. As the watercolor dries, paint Iridescent Ink (from October MMH kit which is still available!) onto an A2 Snow Layering Paper panel to create a shimmery white cardstock.

On the back of neighborhood, carefully add a flat adhesive to the bottom of each building. Pop the tops of each building, or selected buildings, by adding foam dots along their peaks. Then adhere to dry shimmery white cardstock panel making sure the recessed areas have been pressed into place.

Stamp Peace, Love, and Joy sentiment across the top in black ink and adhere finished panel to folded card base.

To create a simple but equally beautiful version, die cut the Paper Layering Neighborhood into Snow Layering Paper and adhere flat upon an ink blended night sky (or even solid colored cardstock) with added white flecks for stars or snow.

Thank you for joining me today. Happy crafting and we'll see you soon!

Just purchased lots of papercrafting items on local “one man’s trash/treasure” website, am eager to use it, and still looking for ideas.
