April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway

April My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #5 + Giveaway

Hello and welcome as we continue the countdown to the release of the April My Monthly Hero Kit! Release day is Monday, April 6 at 1pm Eastern/10am Pacific. Now let's join Channin for another look at this versatile kit!

Hello friends! It's Channin here with a new card idea featuring the April 2020 My Monthly Hero Kit. The products in this kit were so fun to play with! I especially adored the stencil included! It is so versatile, you can use it to create not only a desert scene but you can also use it to create an ocean as well!

For this card, I first taped the stencil over a 4 1/8” x 5 3/8” panel of Dove White cardstock. I also taped off the sky from the water and ink blended the water with Blue Hawaii and Splash Reactive Inks. I then adjusted the tape to mask off the water and then ink blended the sky with Lemon Drop, Creamsicle, Fruit Punch, Taffy, and Berry Smoothie Reactive Inks. Once I had finished ink blending the panel, I then removed the stencil and then ink blended the panel again with the same colors only lightly this time.

Next, I stamped some of the images from the stamp set onto white cardstock. I stamped the mountain in Pumpkin Pie and Cup O’ Joe. I stamped the jellyfish three times in several Reactive Inks (Lemon Drop + Creamsicle, Taffy + Berry Smoothie, and Creamsicle + Fruit Punch). I then stamped the shark and dolphin in Fog and Wet Cement. Once I had finished stamping all the images I die cut them with the matching dies.

I then stamped the panel with a sentiment from the set in INTENS-ified Black ink. Next, I cut a two inch slit at the top of the water line with a craft knife and inserted the mountain. I then adhered the panel onto an A2 top-folding card base made from Pitch Black cardstock with Precision Glue. Lastly, I adhered the die cuts and finished the card by adding some details to the shark and dolphin with a fine black marker.

I hope you enjoyed my card! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Fantastic card. Love the vivid colors
after looking out the window and seeing
dreary colors here in the midwest.
