Hello there, Michelle here and today I have a card and video to share adding detail and decoration to balloons. I am using the Balloon Bunch Fancy Dies , which fill a card front perfectly, so make a big impact on the card!
Here is the video showing how I made the card:
(If you are having trouble viewing this video, please watch HERE on YouTube.)
I started off by die cutting the bouquet of balloons in the Balloon Bunch Fancy Dies set from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock. I then cut the individual balloon in the set four times from the same cardstock.
I added ink blending to the individual balloons first, with Medium Blending Brushes . I then masked off the balloons on the bouquet and added ink blending to those too (just the ones that I am not going to overlap with the individual balloons). For the ink blending, I used Dandelion , Papaya , Ultra Pink , Aegean , Bermuda , Aquatic and Amethyst Core Inks.
I took the Sparkle Weave Stencil and placed it over the ballooons. Using the respective colours of ink, I added ink blending through it to add the pattern onto the balloons. The individual balloons were then adhered to the bouquet layer using Precision Glue XL . The bouquet was then in turn adhered to an A2 sized card base made from Pitch Black cardstock, that I added horizontal score lines on, with thin foam tape.
I stamped the happy birthday sentiment from the Folk Art set onto Pitch Black cardstock using Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink . I applied White Embossing Powder and heat set. It was cut into a strip before adhering to the card. I thought it would be fun to decorate the balloons even further with flowers or butterflies. I think both would work well, but I decided to go with butterflies today!
I die cut the Flower Pattern Cover Plate from Deluxe Smooth White cardstock and added three of the butterlies to the card. To finish off, I added Black Enamel Dots around the balloons and on the butterflies.
I hope I have inspired you to try decorating balloons (or any die cut shapes) using your stencils. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you have a wonderful day!
