Video: Layering Stencils Two Ways with the April My Monthly Hero Kit

Hello friends! It's Channin here and today I’m sharing a pair of cards I created with the new  April 2021 My Monthly Hero Kit . In today’s video I demonstrate two different stencil combos and styles of ink blending with the rotating stencils and ink pads included in the kit.

I started with the cat thank you card by ink blending with the circle/triangle/square stencil and the quarter circle stencil. 

I first ink blended over the circle/triangle/square stencil in Tangerine onto a 4” x 5 1/2” panel of Dove White cardstock. Next, I ink blended over the quarter circle stencil in Raspberry Jam . When I finished I then cleaned the quarter circle stencil and rotated it 90 degrees and ink blended with Grape Juice . 

When I finished ink blending, I then adhered the panel onto the front of an A2 top-folding white card base . Next, I stamped the cat image from the stamp set in INTENS-ified Black Ink onto white cardstock and die cut it out with the matching die. I then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment onto  Pitch Black cardstock. Next, I trimmed the sentiment down to a strip and added foam tape to the backside of it and my cat. I finished the card by adhering them to a small panel of vellum and then adhering the vellum to the card front.  

For my second card I started by ink blending over an A2 top-folding white card base with the circle/triangle/square stencil in all three ink colors ( Tangerine , Raspberry Jam , & Grape Juice ) but this time in a gradation. Once I finished ink blending, I cleaned the stencil, rotated it 90 degrees and then ink blended the gradation again in the same colors but this time a more heavy handedly to create depth and contrast.  

Next, I stamped the fox image in INTENS-ified Black Ink onto white cardstock and then die cut it out with the matching die. I then stamped and white heat embossed my second sentiment onto Pitch Black cardstock and also trimmed it down to create a strip. I added foam adhesive to the backside of both my sentiment and image and then adhered them to a small panel of vellum . Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the vellum to my card front.
