Video: CAS Mixed Media Cards featuring the April My Monthly Hero Kits

Hello friends! It’s Channin here and in today’s video I will demonstrate how to create a pair of clean and simple mixed media cards with the Classic and Premium  April 2023 My Monthly Hero kits. Check out the video below and/or read the following post to get the step by step instructions on these fun and unique cards.

Watch above or on the Hero Arts  YouTube  channel.

To create these cards I first die-cut a circle out of watercolor paper with a die from the Nesting Circle Infinity Die  set. I then ink-smooshed the circle with Lemon Drop , Taffy , Blue Raspberry and Purple Galaxy Reactive Inks, making sure to dry the circle in between colors to prevent color mixing.

Next, with the Doodles Stencil ( Premium ) I applied Hero Paste to the circle. For the Classic version, I simply stamped a design from the included clear stamp set ( Classic & Premium ) in Embossing & Watermark Ink and then heat embossed the design with Detail White Embossing Powder .

Next, I stamped the circles with a couple of the textured designs from the clear stamp set in INTENS-ified Black  ink. I then adhered the circles to the front of an A2 top-folding Dove White card base and trimmed off the overhang.

Next I added a couple pieces of the Fancy Script washi tape ( Classic & Premium ) around the circles. I then die-cut a vase and two set of leaves with the Flowers and Vases Fancy Dies ( Premium ) as well as a large leaf sprig with the coordinating dies ( Classic & Premium ) for the clear stamp set out of Dove White cardstock. I then adhered the die cuts to the cards with foam adhesive.

Next, I stamped a couple of sentiments from the clear stamp set in Embossing & Watermark Ink onto Pitch Black  cardstock. I then pour Detail White Embossing Powder over the sentiment and heat set with a heat tool. Lastly, I finished the cards by adhering the sentiments to the card fronts with foam adhesive.

I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!
