Using White Ink with Bold Prints for Detailed Backgrounds

When I make cards, I often start with a beautiful background stamp as my inspiration. For today’s card, I’m using the delightful Park Background Bold Prints stamp to create a simple, summery card. This stamp is chock full of park sights and activities--hot air balloons, food carts, park benches, leafy trees, bright sunshine, puffy clouds, picnics, kites, bikes, and swings. It’s an ideal background for adding outdoor vibes to your cards.

To make my card, I started by stamping the Park Background Bold Prints background onto a piece of Peacock cardstock with Unicorn White ink. After the ink dried, I trimmed the panel with a Nesting Rectangle Infinity Die and secured it to a Peacock card base with foam tape. The white ink on the darker blue cardstock creates a striking and detailed foundation for the other elements of the card.

For the card’s focal point, I clustered several stamped elements onto a Mist tag that I cut with a Tag Infinity Die. Using the new Lemonade Day Bundle and Intens-ified Black ink, I stamped and die cut a sentiment onto Canary cardstock and a table image onto Dove White cardstock. After coloring the table, I secured both elements to the tag with foam tape and then tied a black bow through the tag’s hole.

I secured the finished tag to the card with foam tape at the lower left corner but the tag would work equally well at any corner or at the card’s center. I’m also a huge fan of the texture and shine that enamel dots add to a card design, so I finished the card with a trio of Blue Enamel Dots placed around the tag.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Wishing you a wonderful week with plenty of real and crafty “park time.”
