Hello crafty friends! It's time for another Stay Crafty With Hero challenge! This month we are challenging you to make cards For the Guys! You can create a card for any occasion: anniversaries, birthdays, graduation, weddings, get well soon, congratulations...just think of those special guys in your life and make a card to celebrate them! We'll include all of the challenge details further down this post, but first, here's a fun birthday card from Pam, featuring products from our June release.
Hola everybody! Pocono Pam here sharing a card just “For the Guys” to kick off this month's Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge. For today's card I paired the Birthday Balloons Bold Prints with the Birthday Stamp & Cut XL.
I love balloons! Though mostly used for decorative purposes, whenever and wherever I see balloons, I immediately think celebration! The Birthday Balloon Bold Prints background stamp can be used for almost any occasion and is perfect for masculine cards.
Creating cards “For the Guys” is not as hard as you may think. You will just have to tweak your color theme slightly and continue to use sentiments and/or embellishments. Using dark cardstock such as Palm, Cranberry or Nautical as your card base or panel would be a good place to start. For my card, I used a black and white color theme.
To begin, I matted a 4 7/8” square white cardstock panel to a 5 1/2” square black card base.
Next, I stamped the Birthday Balloon Bold Prints in Unicorn White Ink onto 4 5/8” square black card panel and adhered it to the card base.
I then die-cut CELEBRATE from the Birthday Stamp & Cut XL set and heat set it 3 times with white embossing powder and adhered it to the balloon card panel. I let the powder cool between each layer.
To continue, I stamped “it’s your day” and “handsome” from the set in black ink onto white cardstock. I trimmed “handsome” to a 1/4” X 2 1/4” strip, matted it with black cardstock and stamped a few stars onto it.
Next, I cut and trimmed “your” and “day” and placed them beneath CELEBRATE with foam squares to add dimension. I then glued “handsome” to the card. To complete the card, I added a few enamel dots.
This masculine card can be presented for a birthday, graduation, promotion, passing an exam or anything to be celebrated! I hope this card inspires you to join us for this month's Stay Crafty Challenge and create a card for your special guy!
