Planning 2017 + a Giveaway!

How many of you out there are planners? I love the creative planner trend, and looking through everyone’s pretty, colorful, fun ideas for decorating their planners when I’m on Instagram or Pinterest. For me personally, I admit that I’m more of a Google Calendar kind of gal – but I consider decorating my planner another creative outlet, and I love having fun with it – when I can *plan* for some planning time! :) And as we quickly approach 2017, it’s the perfect time to get a jump on my planner decorating!

January Planning by Libby Hickson for Hero Arts

I recently received a copy of the Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine’s 2017 Creative Planner. I am going to use this for keeping track of all of my crafty commitments – blog plans, releases, travel. When you actually work in the craft industry, there’s a lot to keep track of. And it only makes sense to be creative while planning your creative life. Ha!

I began with my January calendar. This is my actual creative schedule so far – a couple of trips, and lots of prep for CHA (aka Creativation, the Craft & Hobby Association’s big industry tradeshow). I left room for adding lots of details as they come up.

I began on January 1 with the December-released Happy New Year Stamp & Cut. I love this fab clock, and the font used in this stamp set.

I kept my color scheme to only a handful of colors, all from two ink cube sets – Kelly’s Miami Inks and Kelly’s Palm Springs Inks. And I used a ton of different planner stamp sets throughout the layout. I recommend you just peruse the planner section of the store – there are so many great ones to choose from, depending on what you like to plan! Here’s a listing of all that I used:

CM118 Calendar Pieces / CL921 Kelly’s Special Occasion Planner / CM114 Kelly’s Goal Planner / CL933 Kelly’s Appointment Planner / DC145 Kelly’s Documented / CM117 Fun Day Planner / CM107 Bullet Journaling / CL918 Kelly’s Travel Planner / DC174 Kelly’s To Do List / DC136 Alpha Tabs / DC198 Kelly’s Tape Stamp & Cut

Because I am traveling to Phoenix next month, I also couldn’t resist adding that adorable little cactus from the Road Trip set!

And now the giveaway I mentioned in the title of this post! I have one of those fabulous Scrapbook & Cards Today Creative Planners to giveaway! It’s great for any planning – especially great for crafty planning – and it’s even better if you also happen to be a scrapbooker, it’s full of layout ideas and tips.
