May My Monthly Hero is Here! + a Giveaway!

We are excited to bring you the launch of our May My Monthly Hero Kit and add-ons! Our Creative Team has had so much fun using these products this month and we think you will too! And at the end of this post you will find links to a blog hop that will provide plenty of inspiration using this month’s kit and add-ons.

Join us for an underwater adventure with the May My Monthly Hero Kit! The stamp set has mermaids, undersea life and sentiments that go along with them. You can easily create beautiful scenes with the coordinating dies and Frame Cuts. Using the stencil you can create the feeling of movement that is subtle or dramatic. There are ink cubes, papers and a specialty iridescent ink that all work together effortlessly. Sequins add a bit of sparkle and with the acetate sheets that are included you can make stunning shaker cards that create a window into your underwater world.

First we have the Mer-mazing Messages stamp set.  This set is the perfect complement to the kit and gives you many options of greetings to include on your cards. Jayne, Jess and Libby used this set on their countdown projects.

Next up is a beautiful Mermaid woodblock stamp of a larger mermaid image that also has a coordinating Frame Cut mermaid die. There are so many beautiful ways that you can color her and bring her to life.

And now the his and hers Mermaid Paper Layering Die and Merman Paper Layering Die. There is so much wonderful detail on these and they make the perfect pair don’t you think?

The Reef Border and Frame Fancy Die is the right choice for creating a backdrop for other images or used alone. Amy used it to create a background on her countdown post.

Another versatile background die is the Shell Confetti Fancy Die. Use the die as a background and you can also save the pieces it cuts out and put it them in a shaker card.

Now that you’ve seen everything included in this month’s My Monthly Hero kit and each of the optional add-on products, I hope that you are as excited as I am about this launch! I really love the mermaid images, the fun sentiments and the beautiful wave stencil!

For this card, I started by applying several shades of blue, water-based dye inks directly to the wave stencil. Then, I sprayed the inked stencil with water and pressed the stencil to a trimmed panel of watercolor paper. After the ink dried, I taped the panel to a white card base. I repeated these steps on a second, slightly smaller piece of watercolor paper.

I stamped a sentiment, six starfish, and one mermaid onto white cardstock and then used the matching dies to cut around the images after coloring them with colored pencils. I machine-stitched the sentiment and a row of starfish to the small, wave stenciled panel before securing it to the card with foam tape. To finish, I secured the mermaid to the card and then added a few extra starfish, a trio of sequins and a yellow bow at the upper edge.
