January My Monthly Hero Countdown: Idea #4 + Giveaway!

MMH Countdown to Creativity

We are back with another look at the January My Monthly Hero release! The kit will be available on Monday, January 9th at 1pm eastern/10am pacific. We’ll be sharing ideas for using the main kit and the optional add-on products all weekend long, so stay tuned for more inspiration!

Sending My Love Card by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero ArtsHello, Jess here with my first official post for Hero Arts and I’m so excited to share a sneak peek at the January My Monthly Hero kit!  To start I loosely watercolored a background with distress inks in shades of red and pink.  I set that aside to dry and then stamped the floral bouquet from the kit with Versafine and heat-embossed it with Hero Arts Ultra Fine Clear Embossing Powder.  Next I watercolored it with the same distress ink shades and let it dry.

Sending My Love Card by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero ArtsWhile that was drying I used the Love Note Pair Fancy Dies add-on set to die-cut and create an envelope with vellum. Once the watercolors were dry I used the coordinating dies from the kit to die-cut the floral bouquet and tucked it into the vellum envelope.  I stamped the sentiment from the kit with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink and then adhered the envelope to the background with vellum adhesive.  Finally I added a few sparkling clear sequins to add a little sparkle to the card.

Sending My Love Card by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Hero ArtsThe January My Monthly Hero Kit will help you create fabulous love-themed cards for Valentine’s Day but it’s also full of versatile images and sentiments that will keep you coming back to it all year long!

Win a kit before you can buy it! Just leave a comment on this (and every) Countdown to Creativity post! We’ll randomly draw one lucky winner from all the comments left across all countdown posts, and announce the winner first thing Monday morning, January 9, before the kit launches at 1 pm eastern. The more you comment, the more chances to win!

Have a great weekend!
