"Daytime Silhouettes" with New Core Inks

Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today, and I have created this soft and dreamy project using three of the brand new Core Inks: Amethyst, Peony, and Antique Ivory. I used kind of a reverse silhouette idea here, keeping the "daytime silhouette" images bright white and allowing the pretty blended sky background to be the only color on the card. Let's get started with the details!

I began by white embossing the Vintage Frame Cling stamp around the edge of an A2 panel of white cardstock. I then used Blending Tools to lightly blend Amethyst, Peony, and Antique Ivory inks down the card front, making sure to blend the color seams evenly so that the colors would smoothly fade into one another.

Next, I white embossed several of the images from the Floral Silhouettes stamp set onto heavyweight vellum cardstock, then fussy cut them with some sharp scissors. I also die cut the bird and house from the Bird House Fancy Dies set from some white cardstock to maintain my bright white "daytime silhouettes" theme.

I arranged the birdhouse and botanical images so that the bird house looks as though it is peeking out from a garden of wildflowers, adhering the images with a combination of foam tape and Precision Glue to create lots of dimension and add some different depth perspective. Different heights is the key to keeping things interesting when working with images that are all the same color! I die cut a "smile" greeting from the Friend Words Fancy Dies, cutting it once from some white Glitter Paper Basics and twice from plain white cardstock, adhering them all together to create a dimensional die cut greeting.

Well, that's all for my project today! I hope you enjoyed this card design. I never would have thought that purple, pink, and cream could look so lovely when blended together, but I am totally in love with this blend! I hope you'll take a look at your inks and see what ink combos you've not tried and give them a whirl. Thanks so much for reading, and have a marvelous day!
