Customizing a Sentiment

Customizing a Sentiment

Good morning! Jess here with a cheery card and a reminder that you CAN cut your stamps to customize a sentiment. I promise it won't hurt them!

I started my card by blending Pale Tomato, Soft Apricot, and Butter Bar ink onto an A2 panel of Dove White cardstock with Blending Brushes. I concentrated my blending on the top half of my panel as I knew the full panel wouldn't be visible.  Once I finished blending I dried the panel thoroughly with my heat gun. Then I stamped the panel with the Sun Ray Bold Prints stamp with Embossing & Watermark ink and heat-embossed it with Gold Glitter embossing powder. Then I die-cut a second A2 panel of Dove White cardstock with the City Window Fancy Die. I adhered the die-cut panel over my blended panel to create a cheerful sunrise scene!

Next I die-cut the word 'love' from the Love You Stamp & Cut XL set using gold glitter cardstock from the Holiday Sparkle Glitter Paper Pack. Then I cut the rest of the sentiment stamp in half and stamped it onto Pitch Black cardstock with Embossing & Watermark ink and heat-embossed it with Gold Glitter embossing powder. Then I trimmed the sentiments down to thin labels. I adhered the gold 'love' at the bottom of the my panel to fill up some of that white space and then added the black cardstock sentiment labels at the top and bottom of the window for a little balance. I like how breaking up that sentiment provides more visual interest and balance and I think it would have felt a little off had I left the sentiment as one big strip. That being said, I can easily put the sentiment back together on my acrylic block or stamping tool if I want it as one solid strip so there's no reason not to cut it in half! Be brave and give it a try sometime! ;)

Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing day!
