My name is Jeannie Lieu and I’m a native San Franciscan. When I was little, I had the “Fantastic Sticker Maker” (if you remember it!), loved to color, scrapbooked and even created outfits for my dolls. I’ve always had a creative side but pushed it aside for a bit while growing up. It was only when I was comfortable in my career that I started to get bored and needed an outlet for creativity. That was when I fell back in love with being creative and went head first into cardmaking. I’ve been making cards for about 6 years now and I love it so much! My first love with cardmaking is ink blending and to this day, it’s still my go to when I’m in a creative slump.
The first card I’m sharing today is a scene card, which is super fun to create because you’re pulling images together that may not necessarily work with each other.
I’m using the Better Together stamp set along with the Sweet as Honey stamp set for a friendship card. I mapped out my scene with a pencil using a few lines. Then I stamped and masked the two main images from these sets. Once I removed the masks, I went right into coloring, which brings it to life.
To finish this off, I stamped the sentiment using Embossing & Watermark Ink, added White Detail Embossing Powder and heat set it.
For my second card, I went back to one of my favorite techniques – ink blending.
I picked a muted color palette and ink blended my background. Once I was done, I stamped some images from the Floral Silhouettes stamp set in Intens-ified Black ink around the edges of my card. Then, I moved onto my Together Fancy Window Die, which I cut out from white cardstock and colored it up. The Infinity Circle Nesting Dies are super versatile because they have a wide range of sizes and it was easy to find the right size to cut a circle around this die.
For an added accent, I took a piece of cardstock to ink up in Embossing & Watermark Ink and added Gold Embossing Powder all over. I die cut a circle frame using the Infinity Circle Nesting Dies. For my sentiment, I decided to use the “Better Together” sentiment from the Better Together stamp set, which I heat embossed in Gold Embossing Powder on vellum and fussy cut out.
