Today we're delighted to have Creative Team member Jayne Nelson here to share some fabulous "beyond the kit" ideas for a few of the add-ons.
Today I’m sharing two floral cards that I made with several of this month’s beautiful add-on products. Both of these cards feature the gorgeous, new Color Layering Bold Flowers stencil set. This stencil set includes four stencils that can be layered with overlapping colors to create stunning, colorful flower backgrounds or lovely, floral focal points.
For my first card, I stenciled each of the flower and leaf stencils onto a trimmed panel of Peony cardstock with Taffy , Fruit Punch , Green Apple and Pine inks. To simplify the correct placement of each color layer, all of the stencils have alignment markers at the corners. After cleaning the stencils, I secured the floral panel to a Peony card base with foam tape.
For the card’s sentiment, I embossed a fun message from the Plant Metaphors set onto a piece of Meadow cardstock with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and White Embossing Powder . Before securing it to the card, I used a Square Infinity Die to cut around the sentiment. I also added a larger square of Classic Vellum paper behind the panel. For a simple embellishment, I stenciled a single flower, fussy-cut around it with scissors, and then glued it to the edge of the message with Precision Glue . For some shine, I added three Pink Enamel Dots to the finished card.
For my second card, using only two of the Color Layering Bold Flowers stencils, I selectively stenciled a few flowers across a panel of Dove White cardstock with Taffy and Fruit Punch inks. Before applying the inks across the positioned stencils, I simply covered the areas of the stencil where I did not want flowers. After securing the stenciled panel to an Ultra Pink card base, I added lots of vibrant flower, leaf and circle shaped Floral Enamel Stickers to the card, scattering them on and between the flowers.
Next, I stamped a pretty script message from the Wisteria HeroScape set with Intens-ified Black ink onto the card. For one final detail, I added a small message from the Everyday Sentiment Strips set that I embossed onto Pitch Black cardstock and then cut with the Sentiment Strips Fancy Die .
