A Gingerbread House Card for the Holidays

Hey there friend! Daniel here with a fantastic gingerbread house card for the holidays. I've meditated recently on the amazing details that we cardmakers add to our projects to really give them a boost. I am not one for overly blinging up my cards, but I really enjoy the look of special details that increase the wow factor. I try to avoid throwing everything in my stash on a project, but I still want admire the fine details.

Here are a few tips to help with this approach.

Tip #1 - Limit Your Color Palette 
Rainbows are beautiful, but, and hear me out, you don't have to use every color in the rainbow on every project. Pick three and a neutral or two and you'll be amazed at how much more cohesive your project turns out.

Tip #2 - Limit Your Kinds of Shine
Again, we want to protect the cohesive look of our card, so pick a couple kinds of shine and stick with them. In this project, I used White Pearl Hero Paste and some White Puff Embossing Powder. I could have gotten away with some sequins, but decided I had enough.

Steps to create this card:

First, I die cut the gingerbread house dies out of Dove White Cardstock and Cup O' Joe Cardstock. Then, I used a craft knife to cut out some of the detail pieces of the house from the white die cut. Next, I colored them in with red and blue Copic markers and adhered them to the front of the Cup O' Joe gingerbread house with Precision Glue.

After that I pressed the snowy white die cuts into Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink and melted White Puff Embossing Powder over them with a heat tool. Then I adhered these pieces to the front of the house with Precision Glue. Next, I glued the candies behind the roof.

I prepped the Sprinkled Dots Stencil with Pixie Spray to keep the Hero Paste from seeping under it. Then I spread some Pearl White Hero Paste through the stencil over some Dove White Cardstock. When it was dry, I trimmed it down to a 3.75" x 5" panel and popped it up over a side-folded Dove White Folded Card.

I prepped a panel of Cherry Cardstock with an anti-static powder tool and stamped the message with Clear Embossing & Watermark Ink. Next, I melted some White Detail Embossing Powder over it with a heat tool and die-cut the strip with the coordinating Sentiment Strips Fancy Die.

Finally, I popped everything up over the stenciled panel with foam tape and called 'er done!
